The People Behind DTG Trees & Grounds
DTG Trees & Grounds is owned and operated by brothers Tom and Giuseppe, who both share the same focus on providing a reliable, professional service for customers. Giuseppe founded the business and spent its early years working as a sole trader, looking after domestic and commercial properties across Devon. He remains heavily involved in quoting, operations and the day-to-day delivery of projects.
Tom joined the business later, bringing around 15 years of experience from working with a large national contractor across the UK. As Managing Director, he has helped develop DTG’s commercial side, strengthen its systems and professional standards and secure work with larger organisations, including Forestry England.
Since those early days, DTG has grown into a wider team of tree surgeons, grounds maintenance operatives and support staff, while building hundreds of five-star reviews across platforms including Google, Trustpilot and Checkatrade. Customer service remains at the centre of the business, whether the team is working at a domestic property, school, commercial site or on behalf of a larger organisation.

Danny
Grounds Maintenance Operative
Danny has joined us as a Grounds Maintenance Operative, with extensive experience in managing large multi-acre estates and handling all aspects of grounds work. He holds both his PA6 chemical weed treatment certification and a chainsaw licence. In addition, Danny is a trained and competent fencer and landscaper. He absolutely loves the outdoors. When he's not at work, you'll most likely find him fishing.
Richard
Grounds Maintenance Operative & Tree Surgeon
Richard brings over 30 years of experience in tree surgery and grounds maintenance, mastering every aspect of the job. Known for his steady and methodical approach, Richard consistently delivers work to the highest standards. A true multi-talented professional, he’s not only a highly skilled tree surgeon and climber but also an excellent grounds maintenance operative and a proficient fencer. Outside of work, Richard's passions lie in music and art. He’s a talented guitarist and a gifted painter, always finding time to express his creativity.
BRYN
Senior Supervisor
Bryn qualified from Bicton College in 2009 and has been working in the arboriculture industry ever since. He’s a highly skilled climber and a excellent team leader, capable of tackling any task, from tree pruning and pollarding to managing the tallest trees with ease. Bryn consistently delivers work of the highest standard, always adhering to strict health and safety protocols. Outside of work, you’ll often find Bryn walking his dog or riding his mountain bike down rugged trails.
Thomas Nicotra
Managing Director
Tom is our Managing Director and co-owner of DTG, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business. While his role is primarily behind the scenes, he’s often out on-site, delivering projects and staying hands-on with all aspects of tree work and grounds maintenance. With a background in working for large contractors across various sectors, Tom brings a high level of professionalism and a strong focus on HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment) to the business. Outside of work, Tom is a dedicated family man who loves spending time with his wife and two young children.
Giuseppe
Operations Director
Giuseppe, co-owner and founder of DTG, started the business out of his passion for serving customers. He handles all aspects of project quoting and ensures smooth delivery of each job. In addition to his leadership role, Giuseppe is a skilled tree surgeon and grounds maintenance operative, with a strong commitment to completing work safely and to the highest standards. He remains hands-on, often working alongside the team to stay connected with both staff and clients. Outside of work, Giuseppe enjoys spending time with his young family, taking walks with the dogs, and embracing all the joys of fatherhood.
Janet
Administrator and Business Development
Janet plays a vital role in the back office, focusing entirely on supporting the business through administration and business development. With a long career in office-based roles, she excels in staying organised and efficient, helping the business run smoothly behind the scenes. In her free time, Janet enjoys spending quality time with her children and her first grandchild, as well as taking walks on Dartmoor.
